Juanfran: 'Title for the fans'

Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran says that their La Liga success this season was for the club's supporters.

Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran has said that their title win 'was for the club's supporters'.

The capital outfit secured the league crown on Saturday after drawing 1-1 with Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

The Spanish title is Atletico's first since 1996, while it is the first time that a team outside of Barcelona or Real Madrid has won La Liga since 2004, when Valencia were champions.

"We've made Atleti history," he told reporters after the game.

"We feel for this shirt like the fans do. We always remember them. This is for them."

Atletico face Real Madrid in the Champions League final next weekend.
