Barcelona exploring Douglas loan

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique hints that out-of-favour defender Douglas could leave Camp Nou on loan this month.

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has revealed that his club could sanction a loan move for Brazilian defender Douglas this month.

The right-back joined the Catalan giants in the summer of 2014, but has only made seven first-team appearances after struggling to make his mark in Spain.

The 25-year-old is currently down the pecking order when it comes to the right side of the defence and Aleix Vidal's availability could force the Brazilian out of the door before the end of the transfer window.

"Loaning out Douglas is a possibility for the transfer window," Enrique told reporters.

Douglas, who is a former Brazil Under-21 international, signed a five-year deal upon joining Barcelona in August 2014.
