Barcelona consider paying £8m to officially bring Emerson to the club for the 2020-21 campaign, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in bringing Emerson to the club for the 2020-21 campaign.

The Spanish champions signed the 21-year-old from Atletico Mineiro last summer, but he immediately joined Real Betis as part of a joint financial operation.

Barca allegedly have the option of officially bringing the defender to Camp Nou for £5.2m in 2021, but according to AS, the Catalan giants are considering paying £8m to secure the Brazilian this summer.

The report claims that Emerson's performances this season have caught the attention of Quique Setien's side, who are seemingly in the market for at least one new full-back this summer.

The Brazil international has contributed three goals and five assists in 23 La Liga outings this term.

Barca have also been credited with an interest in AC Milan's Theo Hernandez.
