Chelsea, Manchester City offer Lautaro Martinez double-your-money contract?

Chelsea and Manchester City will reportedly offer Lautaro Martinez a double-your-money contract as they attempt to fend off interest from Barcelona.

Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly ready to offer Lautaro Martinez a double-your-money contract in an attempt to fend off interest from Barcelona.

Recent reports have suggested that the Inter Milan forward is close to sealing a switch to Camp Nou, with the Argentine's heart set on a move to Quique Setien's side.

The 22-year-old has supposedly refused to renew his deal with Inter, where he is said to have a £92m release clause.

According to Sport, Chelsea and City are willing to offer Martinez a staggering €10m (£8.8m) per year for his services, which is almost twice the amount that Antonio Conte's side are proposing.

However, the report also claims that Barcelona are confident they can still get a deal over the line, and Martinez will allegedly tell Inter not to speak with anyone other than the Catalan giants.

The Argentina international has registered 11 goals in 22 Serie A appearances during the 2019-20 campaign.
