Josu Urrutia warns Barcelona over Aymeric Laporte

Athletic Bilbao president Josu Urrutia warns Barcelona off making a move for Aymeric Laporte.

Athletic Bilbao president Josu Urrutia has revealed that there has been no formal approach from Barcelona for highly-rated defender Aymeric Laporte.

The 19-year-old, who has been with Bilbao since 2010, has emerged into one of the brightest talents in La Liga with his performances over the last 12 months.

Barcelona have been strongly linked with a move for the Frenchman, but Urrutia has insisted that the centre-back is happy at San Mams.

"With the performances he's been giving the team, it's only natural for there to be interest, not only for Laporte, but for other players of ours who have been doing well," Urrutia told reporters.

"All we need to concern ourselves with, is if the players want to be here. If that's the case, then we have nothing to fear."

Laporte has three France Under-21 caps to his name.
