Medhi Benatia: 'Bayern Munich can beat Barcelona 4-0'

Mehdi Benatia would not be surprised to see Bayern Munich overturn their 3-0 first-leg Champions League defeat by beating Barcelona 4-0 to reach the final.

Bayern Munich defender Medhi Benatia is confident that the Bavarians can recover from their first-leg 3-0 Champions League semi-final defeat by Barcelona next week.

The Catalans planted one foot in the final courtesy of a brace from Lionel Messi in the final 13 minutes, with the Argentine setting up Neymar to steepen the task late on.

However, Benatia says that Pep Guardiola's side can manage the "perfect game" at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday and win 4-0.

"It is not easy, but if we do not believe, we can all stay at home," he is quoted as saying by L'Equipe.

"We also have great players and the ability to play better. If we get our shots away quicker, we will score. We can win 4-0.

"But we need the perfect game and to go in there and get ahead early. We have shown that we can score goals at home, even though we have not played against Barca yet."

Bayern won the competition under Jupp Heynckes in 2013, while the Blaugrana last reigned supreme in Europe under Guardiola himself in 2011.
