Bayern Munich appoint Michael Reschke as new technical director

Bayern Munich announce that former Bayer Leverkusen general manager Michael Reschke has joined the club as technical director.

Bayern Munich have announced that former Bayer Leverkusen general manager Michael Reschke has joined the Bundesliga champions as new technical director.

The 56-year-old will now report to director of sport Matthias Sammer following 35 years with Leverkusen, where he took on numerous roles.

"I'm delighted that Michael Reschke will be strengthening us," said Sammer. "I have known him and respected him for a very, very long time.

"It was my expressed desire to create this new position at Bayern Munich and for Michael Reschke to fill it. I know that we are gaining an expert colleague and I'm looking forward to working with him."

Bayern sealed the league title with a record six games to spare last season.
