Ottmar Hitzfeld expects Pep Guardiola to take over at Manchester City

Former Bayern Munich boss Ottmar Hitzfeld expects Pep Guardiola to take charge of Manchester City as opposed to Manchester United.

Former Bayern Munich boss Ottmar Hitzfeld has claimed that Pep Guardiola will take over at Manchester City in the future.

The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League as his contract at the Bundesliga club expires at the end of the season.

Manchester United have also been touted as a potential destination, but Hitzfeld believes that City will be able to lure Guardiola with their spending power.

"I suspect that Pep will leave Bayern because Manchester City continue turning up with the money," Hitzfeld told Bild. "There is no reason to wait until December for a decision because no titles are awarded now."

Manuel Pellegrini extended his stay as City manager with a new contract in the summer.
