Matthias Sammer: 'Bayern Munich are fully behind Pep Guardiola'

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer claims that the club are happy with Pep Guardiola ahead of the new season.

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has insisted that the club have no issues with the performance of head coach Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard has clashed with the media in recent weeks as the speculation surrounding his future dominates the headlines heading into the final season of his contract at the Allianz Arena.

However, Sammer claims that the Bayern hierarchy are fully behind Guardiola as he prepares for Sunday's DFB-Pokal clash with Nottingen.

"Of course people are trying to unsettle him right now and, yes, he was a bit wound up lately but that just shows what a fine feeling he has, and I like that," he told reporters.

"Everything has been said about the coach's future. We'll continue to work as we have, full of faith in each other.

"He is our coach and he is the director of our orchestra."

Bayern begin their Bundesliga campaign against Hamburger SV next Friday.
