Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has a screw removed from his leg, which means that he can start his recovery.

Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has had a screw in his right leg removed, the club have confirmed.

The removal of the screw will allow the player to begin the rehabilitation process and eventually return to first-team action.

It is not yet known when Thiago will be back in action, but it is expected to be a number of months away.

Thiago played two games for Bayern before suffering the injury.
