Benfica manager Jorge Jesus set for Sporting Libson switch?

Benfica manager Jorge Jesus will move to the club's rivals Sporting Libson due to a pay dispute, according to a report in Portugal.

Benfica manager Jorge Jesus is reportedly on the verge of a surprise move to the club's city rivals Sporting Lisbon.

The 60-year-old has been in charge of the Eagles for the past six years and has guided the club to three league titles.

Jesus recently helped them to win the league for the second consecutive season, but according to Portuguese newspaper Expresso, he will leave due to a dispute over his salary, which is higher than any other manager in the country.

Marco Silva is currently the manager of Sporting, but it is believed that the club's Angolan shareholder Alvaro Sobrinho is backing a move for Jesus, who is out of contract this summer.

Jesus is the son of former Sporting player Virgolino Antonio and followed in his father's footsteps by turning out for the club during the 1975–76 season.
