Valencia take Benfica striker Rodrigo on loan

Benfica hitman Rodrigo joins Valencia on a season-long loan deal.

Valencia have announced that they have taken Benfica forward Rodrigo out on loan.

The 23-year-old, who has represented Spain at youth level, has joined the La Liga outfit for a season-long stint.

"Once the contractual documentation has been completed, the player will undergo a medical at 21:30pm [on Wednesday] at the Ciudad Deportiva in Paterna," a statement on the Valencia website read.

"He will then hold a press conference at the media centre of the facility, alongside president Amadeo Salvo and general sporting manager Francisco Joaquin Rufete."

Rodrigo scored 18 goals for Benfica last season.
