It is understood that former Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark is top of a four-man shortlist to become the next manager of Birmingham City.

Lee Clark is believed to be top of a four-man shortlist to become the next manager of Birmingham City.

The 39-year-old has been out of employment since his shock dismissal from Huddersfield Town in February.

However, officials of the Midlands club consider Clark to be the primary contender to replace Chris Hughton following his departure to Norwich City, according to the Daily Mail.

Steve Cotterill, Sammy Lee and Nick Barmby are also understood to be in the frame for the position.

Bookmakers Skybet have made Clark the 1/2 favourite to take over at St Andrews.
