Reading boss Nigel Adkins: 'It was a clear penalty'

Reading boss Nigel Adkins reacts to his side's 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers.

Reading manager Nigel Adkins has insisted that his side should have been awarded a penalty during their 1-0 defeat at home to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.

The Royals boss believes that Matt Kilgallon should have been penalised for handling in the area when Adam Le Fondre was clean through on goal.

"It was stop-start, credit to Blackburn for doing that and for the three points. It was a clear penalty, but Blackburn held on," Adkins told reporters.

Craig Conway scored the only goal of the game to move Blackburn up to ninth place in the table.
