Blackburn Rovers confirm Paul Hunt departure

Blackburn confirm that deputy chief executive Paul Hunt has left the club.

Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that deputy chief executive Paul Hunt has left the club amid reports that he was dismissed yesterday.

The news comes after it emerged that Hunt had sent a letter to club owners Venky's suggesting that they remove Steve Kean as manager.

On Tuesday, just a day after Blackburn's relegation from the Premier League was confirmed, the letter was obtained by Sporting Intelligence and subsequently leaked to the public.

A short statement on the club's official website said: "Blackburn Rovers Football Club can confirm that deputy chief executive Paul Hunt has left the club."

Kean himself has insisted that he has no plans to walk away from his position despite protests calling for his sacking.
