Sokratis Papastathopoulos has signed a new deal with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
The Greece international, who joined Dortmund from Werder Bremen two years ago, was previously contracted to Signal Iduna Park until 2018.
However, the 24-year-old has now committed himself to the club by a further 12 months.
"The city of Dortmund, BVB and the people here have become a second home for me and my family," he told the club's official website.
"I am very happy that I will still be able to wear the black and yellow shirt for a long time yet."
To date, Sokratis has made 58 league appearances for BVB, from which he has scored two goals.
