Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka suffers ankle ligament injury

Borussia Monchengladbach suffer another injury blow as Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka tears ankle ligaments while on international duty.

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka has been ruled out for several weeks with an ankle ligament injury.

The 23-year-old suffered the problem during yesterday's Euro 2016 qualifying win in Estonia.

He had scored twice in seven Bundesliga appearances this season for Monchengladbach, who are 13th in the table.

Xhaka joins Patrick Herrmann and Nico Schulz, who have both torn cruciate knee ligaments, on the Monchengladbach treatment table.
