Half-Time Report: Yann Kermorgants puts Bournemouth ahead against Nottingham Forest

Yann Kermorgant heads Bournemouth in front against Nottingham Forest in the penultimate weekend of the Championship

Bournemouth look set to end Nottingham Forest's hopes of reaching the Championship's playoffs as they lead 1-0 at half time.

The Cherries went close early when Yann Kermorgant set up Matt Ritchie and the winger fizzed an effort wide.

The hosts came closer in the 10th minute when Lewis Grabban's shot after a well-worked move was beaten away by Forest keeper Dorus de Vries.

Midway through the half, Forest had an opening when Stephen McLaughlin got on the end of Matt Derbyshire's flick but couldn't hit the target.

Forest then had a great chance five minutes before the break when Derbyshire was put through but could only fire straight at Lee Camp.

Bournemouth took the lead just before the break through Kermorgant, who headed home after good work down the right by Cherries full-back Simon Francis.
