Brentford boss Mark Warburton hails two-goal Everton loanee Chris Long

Brentford boss Mark Warburton expresses his delight at Chris Long's two-goal display against Huddersfield Town.

Brentford manager Mark Warburton has heaped praise on Everton loanee Chris Long following his brace in the Bees' 4-1 Championship win over Huddersfield Town.

Long made his first start after six substitute appearances and repaid Warburton with goals either side of Harry Bunn's equaliser before Brentford cruised through in the final 20 minutes.

"I'm delighted for him," Warburton is quoted as saying by Get West London. "He's done great in training. He's chomping for a start. It helps [first-choice striker Andre Gray] by giving him a rest.

"Longy has come in tonight and he'll be a real threat for the rest of the season."

Brentford's victory moved them into the playoffs above Ipswich Town, but they will drop back to seventh if the Tractor Boys avoid defeat at Leeds United later this evening.
