Brighton & Hove Albion boss Gus Poyet confirms that he will look to bring in a striker following an injury to Craig Mackail-Smith.

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Gus Poyet has admitted that he will be looking for a new striker following an injury to Craig Mackail-Smith.

The former Peterborough forward pulled up in Poyet's side's 0-0 draw with Bristol City and could be out for the rest of the campaign with an apparent Achilles injury.

Poyet told reporters: "It looks bad. Craig could be out for two or three months so his season may be over. I don't like the emergency loan system, but I am not so stupid that I won't use it as we are now very short of strikers.

"I'll start looking for a new striker tomorrow. It was meant to be my day off, but now I expect to spend most of it on the phone."

Brighton are sixth in the Championship following the draw at Ashton Gate.
