Craig Mackail-Smith focused on Brighton

Craig Mackail-Smith insists that he is focused on playing for Brighton after rumours linked the striker with a move to the Premier League.

Brighton striker Craig Mackail-Smith has played down talk of a possible move away from the Amex Stadium.

The Scottish international has scored seven goals for club and country this season following his move to Brighton during the summer.

His form has led to rumours of a possible move to the Premier League, but the 27-year-old insists that he is focused on Brighton.

"It's nice when people say that I'm too good to be playing in the Championship because it means that I'm doing my job well," said Mackail-Smith.

"But all I'm concerned about is playing well for Brighton and making sure we are towards the top of the table at the end of the season.

"Speculation about interest from other clubs doesn't bother me. My job is to score goals for Albion and I intend to keep doing that."

Mackail-Smith moved to Brighton from Peterborough after scoring 35 goals for the League One side last season.
