Burnley keeper Tom Heaton not getting carried away with recent form

Burnley keeper Tom Heaton stresses that his side cannot afford to get carried away following their 1-0 win over Southampton, which moved them out of the relegation zone.

Burnley keeper Tom Heaton has insisted that his side cannot afford to get carried away by their recent run of good form following their win over Southampton.

The Clarets moved out of the bottom three as Ashley Barnes scored the only goal of the game to guide his side to the three points at Turf Moor, after Heaton had saved a penalty from Dusan Tadic.

Heaton told the clubs official website: "I'm very pleased with the save, but the most important thing is that we used it as the turning point in the game and went on to score and hold on.

"Our resilience was there for all to see again. Southampton are a very good side and they had a good spell when we came out for the second half. But thankfully once we got the lead, we were always confident that we could hold on and you could see that on show again today.

"It's important that we keep picking up points, but we're trying not to get too carried away with the table. There's a long way to go and we still have the 'one game at a time' mentality that the manager drums into us. I think it stands us in a good stead."

Sean Dyche's men are 17th in the Premier League table following only one defeat in six games.
