Bury boss David Flitcroft up for League Two Manager of the Month award

Bury boss David Flitcroft leads the contenders for February's Manager of the Month award in League Two.

Bury boss David Flitcroft has been named among the nominees for February's Manager of the Month award in League Two.

Flitcroft guided his side into the playoff positions as they won three and drew two of their five games, conceding just two goals in the process.

Plymouth Argyle's John Sheridan has also been shortlisted after 12 points from a possible 15 boosted his side's chances of reaching the playoffs.

Portsmouth manager Andy Awford is in contention to land the prize as six unbeaten matches helped Pompey edge towards the top half of the table.

Completing the list of contenders is Northampton Town's Chris Wilder, who oversaw a return of 10 points from five games. The Cobblers also became the first team to win at high-flying Shrewsbury Town.
