Mehmet Dalman hints at Cardiff City management change

Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman insists that the club will replace Malky Mackay as manager if necessary.

Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has claimed that the club will not be afraid to replace Malky Mackay as manager if necessary.

Mackay and owner Vincent Tan have been involved in dispute over the past two weeks due to a disagreement over transfer policy.

The Scot has been guaranteed to stay in the job "for the foreseeable future" after initially being told to quit or be sacked, but Dalman insists that a change could still happen.

"Every effort that can be made is being made to allow the club to move forward," he told Sky Sports News. "We will do everything humanly possible to maintain the status quo but if not we will move fast to repair the situation.

"If that means bringing in a new manager, we will, but for the time being, we believe that's premature and we will work together to fix the predicament we're in."

Cardiff are back in Premier League action on Boxing Day when they play host to Southampton.
