Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay has said that pre-match handshakes between opposing teams should be scrapped.
The issue was highlighted on Saturday, when Liverpool's Luis Suarez refused to shake the hand on Patrice Evra after he was charged with racially abusing the Manchester United defender.
"I would [scrap it] if it was me because you now look at the trouble it causes," Mackay said. "There's certainly things that are said and they're wrong.
"But at the end of the day for a handshake being the centre of attention in the news, I'm not sure that's too right.
"Maybe the [football] authorities have brought this upon themselves with this and it's brought it into the public eye."
Suarez has since apologised for his actions.
