Cardiff City chairman Simon Lim has warned the club's fans that the Bluebirds will not be spending lavishly this summer.
Malky Mackay's side earned promotion to the Premier League last season after winning the Championship and have already bolstered their ranks with the £8.5m signing of striker Andreas Cornelius.
However, Lim has told supporters that the club cannot continue to spend vast sums on players this summer despite the backing of owner Vincent Tan.
Lim told WalesOnline: "We are not going to spend silly money. He (Tan) mentioned £25m; we may spend £25m, but we're not going to spend £25m for the sake of it.
"If we can spend £10m, we will make do with £10m. We're not going to break the bank – we are not Chelsea."
Cardiff have also been linked with a move for Blackpool winger Thomas Ince.
