Packie Bonner: 'Fraser Forster can become Celtic great'

Celtic legend Packie Bonner believes that goalkeeper Fraser Forster can become a 'Celtic great' if he can maintain his impressive form.

Celtic legend Packie Bonner has hailed the form of goalkeeper Fraser Forster after a series of impressive performances for the SPL champions.

Forster has been instrumental in Celtic's heroic displays against Barcelona this season and former Celtic Park stopper Bonner believes that the former Newcastle United goalkeeper deserves all the credit he has received.

Bonner said: "I've been very impressed by him. I've actually been surprised by how well he's done, considering there were a few doubts when he came in at first. It's all down to him, it comes from the person himself.

"He's had the intelligence to take in the information from his coaches, he's worked hard at his game and the results are there for everybody to see.

"Great credit must go to him for how he has responded and matured and put himself into a situation where he'll be regarded as a great Celtic goalkeeper in years to come if he keeps producing what he's producing now."

Bonner made 642 appearances for Celtic during a 20-year playing career.
