Celtic midfielder Kris Commons has admitted that he was stunned to be named the Scottish PFA's Player of the Year on Sunday night.
The 30-year-old, who has scored 28 goals this season, pipped Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd and Celtic teammates Virgil van Dijk and Fraser Forster to the accolade.
"It's great to be nominated by your fellow professionals but it is a bit overwhelming really," Commons told the club's official website.
"I really thought it was going to be Virgil or Fraser who can both hold their heads up high this year as they have been outstanding for us.
"So I was truly gobsmacked when I got the shout although I think when you are scoring on a regular basis you are always in the limelight."
Commons joined Celtic from Derby County in 2011.
