Antonio Conte: 'Chelsea must accept Barcelona possession'

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says that his side must be willing to "suffer" Barcelona's possession of the ball at Camp Nou on Wednesday night.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has claimed that his players must be prepared to "suffer" during the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at Barcelona.

Last month's first leg at Stamford Bridge ended in a 1-1 draw, meaning that Chelsea must find a way of getting on the scoresheet at Camp Nou on Wednesday night.

Conte suggests that he has belief that his players can earn a result at the home of the Catalan giants, but that his first-team squad must be willing to do plenty of work off the ball.

At a press conference, the 48-year-old told reporters: "When I speak about suffer, every team must prepare to suffer their possession because they like to dominate the game and play between the lines. For this reason, there must be great concentration to be compact and to suffer. We have to defend well and with the ball we must know the way to go straight, in the same way at Stamford Bridge.

"About the plan, the first leg we had a plan and the final result wasn't a good result for us. 1-1 means we have to score if we want to go to the next round.

"We have to stay in the game, but it won't be easy. If we want to go into the next round we must pay into the game in every moment of it."

Chelsea have avoided defeat on their last four visits to Camp Nou.
