Roberto Di Matteo is delighted with Chelsea's 1-0 win over Benfica but warns that the tie is not over.

Roberto Di Matteo has said that he couldn't have hoped for a better result following Chelsea's 1-0 win in Benfica tonight.

The result gives the Blues a vital away goal in their quarter-final tie against the Portuguese side and puts them in control ahead of the second leg at Stamford Bridge.

"It's terrific, you couldn't have hoped for a better result," said the Chelsea boss.

"I thought we looked good defensively. For 90 minutes we had to run and tackle, and I had to select a team that had the energy to compete."

Despite making the ideal start to the two-legged tie, Di Matteo has warned that there is still a long way to go before Chelsea can celebrate a semi-final berth.

"Nothing is over. There is still another 90 minutes to play. But we will have home advantage and we will try and qualify," he said.

The return leg at Stamford Bridge takes place on April 4.
