Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez believes that his side are benefiting from a more positive atmosphere at Stamford Bridge after three home wins in six days.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez believes that a softened stance from home supporters is helping his side produced improved results at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues edged Sunderland 2-1 this afternoon to go third in the Premier League, ahead of Tottenham Hotspur on goal difference.

After a third home win in six days, Benitez has declared that a subtle change in mood at the Bridge is helping ease the pressure on his team to perform.

He told The Mirror: "I do the same, I try to concentrate on my job. But people are asking me and the feeling is everybody has realised we have to stick together and support the team.

"That was my message before, and that is still my message now. It's (the atmosphere) always important. When you have great games, it's the atmosphere.

"The best nights here are with great atmosphere. It's always very positive."

The Blues are back in Europa League action against Rubin Kazan on Thursday as they continue to fight on three fronts with a busy fixture schedule.
