Chelsea 'confident of Diego Costa comeback ahead of Arsenal trip'

Diego Costa is in line to return to action for Chelsea in their crucial Premier League meeting with Arsenal later this month, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly confident of getting injury-plagued striker Diego Costa back up and running ahead of their Premier League match against Arsenal later this month.

The Spanish international was forced off just 12 minutes after being introduced in the Blues' 2-1 victory over Stoke City on the weekend, having aggravated his damaged hamstring.

Jose Mourinho admitted after the game that bringing on his star striker was always going to be a "risk", before revealing that a two-week layoff was the most likely diagnosis.

That will mean sitting out games against Queens Park Rangers and Manchester United over the next fortnight, but according to The Telegraph, Chelsea are confident that Costa will be fit enough to play a part in the potentially decisive meeting with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Victory for the current leaders in that game will all but secure a first Premier League triumph since 2010, although if there are any concerns over the 19-goal top-scorer's fitness then he will not be risked.
