Andre Villas-Boas: Fernando Torres still worth it

Fernando Torres is still worth the £50m that Chelsea paid to Liverpool in January, insists Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has insisted that Fernando Torres is still worth the £50m the Blues paid to Liverpool in January.

The Spanish striker has failed to rekindle his Anfield form since the move but Villas-Boas is confident he can still prove his worth.

When asked whether the 27-year-old was still worth the £50m sum the Portuguese coach replied: "Of course. He's one of the best with assists at the club - four or five.

"He's assisting people and the team are getting wins out of it."

Torres, who has only scored twice in the league this term, recently admitted that he has found it hard to settle at Stamford Bridge.
