Gary Cahill believes that Chelsea's win against Arsenal has ascertained that they will finish above the Gunners in the Premier League table this season.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill believes that Arsenal are no longer a threat to his side as far as finishing in the top three in the Premier League is concerned.

Rafael Benitez's team defeated the Gunners 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday to remain third in the table and go 11 points clear of Arsenal, who are sixth.

"Obviously the teams in first and second (Manchester United and Manchester City) have a gap over us and we have a gap over Arsenal now," the London Evening Standard quotes the centre-back as saying.

"Hopefully, we have enough of a gap over Arsenal [to prevent them from catching us] and that's why this game was massively important.

"We just need to concentrate on what we're doing. We are looking up, not down, and want to try and chase first and second spots."

Chelsea are six points behind second-placed City.
