Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has accepted the blame for Wigan's equaliser in Saturday's 1-1 draw at the DW Stadium.

The Czech international's fumble from Hugo Rodallega's shot in the final minutes allowed Jordi Gomez to earn the Latics a share of the spoils.

"At the moment of the shot, I didn't see the ball at all," Cech told his official website.

"One of my teammates ran across my viewpoint, I lost the ball from my view and it bounced off me.

"It's bad luck but, despite all that, I should have coped with it. I shouldn't let in such goals."

The Blues travel to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Thursday evening.
