Chelsea midfielder Ramires has claimed that the upcoming campaign has the potential to be the club's best season of the decade.

The Blues finished sixth in the Premier League, won the FA Cup and were crowned champions of Europe in 2012.

However, Ramires has been so impressed by the early signs of Jose Mourinho's second spell as manager that he thinks that 2014 could prove to be an even better year for the Kings Road club.

"The environment during the first training sessions has been very good," Ramires told Globo Esporte.

"Everyone is very excited and willing. We can feel positive changes happening. Mourinho and the new signings have contributed a lot to that.

"I might be wrong because we know how things are in football, but I think this season can be better than the 2011-12 one, when we won the Champions League."

Mourinho guided Chelsea to back-to-back Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006, but he was sacked by club owner Roman Abramovich in September 2007 following a run of disappointing results.

His long-awaited return to Stamford Bridge was confirmed last month.
