Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan will miss Sunderland's Premier League clash with Chelsea on Saturday.
The 25-year-old returned from international duty with Ghana with a hamstring injury.
Gyan's absence is a blow for Black Cats boss Steve Bruce, whose side have only scored once in four games so far this season.
New loan signing Nicklas Bendtner will be available however, and Bruce has praised his latest addition.
“He’s certainly a wonderfully gifted footballer, there’s no question about that. For his size and his presence and the way he is, he will be a big asset to us," Bruce said.
“We are delighted to have been able to bring him to the club. At that end of the pitch, we have not been able to score, so he will add to that.”
Sunderland currently sit 13th in the Premier League with two points.
