Alan Hansen launches an attack on Chelsea defenders John Terry and David Luiz due to their 'disastrous' form.

Former Liverpool defender Alan Hansen has hit out at Chelsea duo John Terry and David Luiz for their "catastrophic" form this season.

Andre Villas-Boas's side have come under criticism for dropping twelve points below Premier League leaders Manchester City after a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

"Chelsea were incredibly lucky to stay in the game for as long as they did. I can only describe some of the defending I'm witnessing as catastrophic," Hansen wrote in The Telegraph.

"Luiz hasn't got a clue how to defend in a flat back four. Playing so high up is a disaster waiting to happen.

"Terry's made more mistakes in his last eight games than he has in the last eight years."

The Blues' next game is a Champions League group clash against Bayer Leverkusen tomorrow.
