Branislav Ivanovic: 'No reason for Chelsea to panic'

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic insists that the champions will not panic following a disappointing start to the season.

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has insisted that the Premier League champions have no reason to panic following Sunday's 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

The loss at the Etihad Stadium leaves Jose Mourinho's side five points behind City just two games into the new season, but Ivanovic is confident that Chelsea will quickly improve their form as they look to produce a strong defence of the title.

"At the moment, yes it looks a big gap - two games, five points - but we have to look at our situation and improve," the Serbian is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"It was a very difficult game for us but we can come back. This is the Premier League. Every game is another final so we have to look forward.

"We know what we haven't done well in the first two games but there is another 36 and we have to improve ourselves."

Chelsea return to action against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
