Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp unfazed by importance of Chelsea showdown

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists that he has enough motivation to beat Chelsea without playing up the significance of the match upon the fate of Jose Mourinho.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is unfazed by the importance of his side's clash against Chelsea in the Premier League.

Reports have suggested that Blues boss Jose Mourinho will be sacked if his team lose to the Reds at Stamford Bridge later today, which has placed huge significance on the showdown.

However, Klopp is adamant that his only motivation for the match is to pick up his first victory in the Premier League.

He told reporters: "It is a big match but in 15 years in football I've had some big matches. I don't read the newspapers so I don't know what you think about this game but it wouldn't change anything if I knew it because I am full of motivation to win games.

"The better the opponent the more excited the world around us is. Maybe in history it was a great game. Now it is ninth versus 15th."

Klopp secured his first win as Liverpool manager during the week as his side defeated Bournemouth to advance to the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.
