Jose Mourinho: 'Unbeaten season is impossible'

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho plays down suggestions that an unbeaten season looms, insisting that the feat is 'impossible' in the modern era.

Jose Mourinho has shrugged off suggestions that his Chelsea side could stay unbeaten for the entire Premier League campaign.

Chelsea travel across London to Crystal Palace this afternoon as the table-topping Blues look to maintain their momentum and pick up a seventh win in eight top-flight outings.

Famously, Arsenal managed to record an undefeated season in the 2003-04 campaign, a feat that Mourinho claims is 'impossible' in the modern era.

When asked if the Blues could emulate Arsene Wenger's 'Invincibles', the Portuguese told reporters: "I don't think so."

"Times change, teams change, competitions change, players' mentalities change. Everything changed, so I don't think it's possible in England anymore."

Meanwhile, Palace boss Neil Warnock earlier claimed that a perfect season was not beyond Mourinho's Chelsea.
