Gus Poyet says that he is committed to Brighton this season but admits that a move to either Chelsea or Tottenham would be tempting.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet has claimed that he would ponder a managerial switch to Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur.

The 44-year-old has revealed that he desires a move to the Premier League and with the Blues looking for a permanent manager and Spurs potentially without a coach in the summer as Harry Redknapp remains favourite to become the new England boss, Poyet could emerge as a candidate.

"When the chance comes to manage in the Premier League, I am ready, because it is a different challenge," Poyet told Sky Sports News. "I think it is easier to deal with the challenges now with Brighton.

"I have got a long term contract, everything is fine, I'm relaxed, I can do my work, and if in a few years we don't make it then of course you try to move on."

When asked what would happen if Chelsea or Tottenham approached the Seagulls boss, Poyet responded: "I would say we would have a problem. The chairman knows that. I am not saying I am leaving but we have got a problem for sure.

"I think these clubs that you played for in my case, Spurs and Chelsea, normally you are closer to them and it is easier because they know you, they know your personality and how proficient you are.

"But it is not in my hands, it is in the chairmen's hands. We will wait and see. I think that there is going to be opportunities, but maybe we will make it with Brighton, so who knows? I am trying to be honest with everyone, I think the chairman knows what I want to do, but definitely the aim is the Premier League."

Brighton are currently in the playoff places of the Championship table.
