John Terry's main sponsor Umbro has shunned the Chelsea and England captain following the news that he faces criminal prosecution for racially abusing Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand.

The Crown Prosecution Service announced yesterday that the 31-year-old would be charged for alleged racial slurs during the West London derby in October, and is due to face magistrates on February 1.

Sportswear company Umbro, who are the manufacturers of the England kit, have removed the majority of Terry's images from the website, while Michael Owen, Joe Hart, Gareth Barry and Darren Bent are all displayed on the homepage, according to The Independent.

Reports claim that the defender's Umbro contract is due to expire at the end of the season.
