Chris Sutton: 'John Terry is not finished at Chelsea yet'

Ex-Chelsea striker Chris Sutton plays down the significance of John Terry's substitution at half time in their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has said that John Terry's half-substitution against Manchester City has been blown out of proportion.

The Blues skipper was swapped at the interval of Sunday's 3-0 defeat to title rivals City, and the defender has since been linked with a transfer away from Stamford Bridge, with Turkish side Fenerbahce said to be interested.

Sutton told talkSPORT: "I don't think that Mourinho has taken his eye off the ball in any way. They were beaten by a better Manchester City side at the weekend but I don't think it's a crisis.

"It wasn't working at the weekend, Mourinho made a change, it's as simple as that. It doesn't mean John Terry is finished by any means. It's all much ado about nothing.

"This is the top, top level. It's no big deal though as far as I can see. John Terry will come back and play regularly."

Mourinho's men travel to West Bromwich Albion this weekend.
