Goals from Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Fernandinho saw Manchester City record a 3-0 win over Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

A dominant City led 1-0 at the interval through Aguero's first goal of the season, before Kompany and Fernandinho added to the scoring in the final 15 minutes.

MAN CITY

Goal

Joe Hart: Hardly had anything to do for long spells of the match, but came up trumps 20 minutes from time when he expertly denied Eden Hazard the chance to level the scores. (7/10)

Defence

Bacary Sagna: Continues to be preferred ahead of Pablo Zabaleta and the ex-Arsenal full-back had another solid match. Strong at the back and a threat going forward. (7/10)

Vincent Kompany: Was rightly criticised for some poor performances last season, but has made an excellent start to this campaign. Solid at the back and scored a late header to make it 2-0. (8/10)

Eliaquim Mangala: Needs to work on his concentration, but had the power to deal with Diego Costa at the Etihad. Can be pleased with his 90 minutes of football. (7/10)

Aleksandar Kolarov: Had a really super game down the left. Dealt with Willian defensively and terrorised Chelsea with a series of excellent crosses from dangerous positions. (8/10)

Midfield

Yaya Toure: Not as explosive as he has been in previous matches, but did a good job of sitting alongside Fernandinho. Was a key contributor as Man City won the midfield battle. (7/10)

Fernandinho: Perhaps a shade fortunate to remain on the field following a late elbow on Costa in the first period. Had a good game though and scored an excellent third for Man City. (7/10)

David Silva: Set up Aguero inside the first minute and was always picking pockets in the final third. Chelsea just never got to grips with the Spaniard's movement and intelligence. (7/10)

Attack

Jesus Navas: Delivery was not always the best, but the Spaniard's pace and dribbling caused Chelsea's defence a whole host of problems. Was subbed for Samir Nasri in the 65th minute. (7/10)

Sergio Aguero: Still not up to full fitness, but made the difference once again. Scored his team's first of the match and could have had another three or four at the Etihad. (8/10)

Raheem Sterling: Not always as involved as he would have liked, but caused Branislav Ivanovic a number of problems down the left and looked a threat in possession of the ball. (7/10)

Substitutes

Samir Nasri: Would have been disappointed not to have started, but showed a willingness to work during his 25 minutes on the field. Kept Man City ticking over in forward areas. (6/10)

Martin Demichelis: Brought on in the 79th minute to help protect his team's one-goal lead, but the hosts scored twice more when the experienced defender was on the field. (6/10)

Wilfried Bony: Replaced Aguero late on, but was not really involved. (6/10)

CHELSEA

Goal

Asmir Begovic: Kept his team in the match in the first period and could not do anything with any of the three goals. One of Chelsea's better performers on the day, which will be a worry for the Blues. (7/10)

Defence

Branislav Ivanovic: Found Jefferson Montero tough to handle last week and struggled against Sterling here. Really off-colour performance from the usually excellent full-back. (5/10)

John Terry: Was part of a back four that really struggled to contain Man City in the first period. Was substituted for Kurt Zouma in what was a tactical decision at the interval. (5/10)

Gary Cahill: Took another whack to his nose at the end of the first period on what was an uncomfortable afternoon for the centre-back. Struggled to deal with the pace of the home team. (5/10)

Cesar Azpilicueta: Helped Chelsea gain some good ground in the second period with his energy down the left, but the Spaniard was not at his best defensively in Manchester. (6/10)

Midfield

Ramires: Thought he had levelled early in the second period, but the Brazilian's effort was ruled offside. Never got to grips with the exact position that he should have been playing. (5/10)

Nemanja Matic: Was left exposed in the middle of the park as Man City's 4-2-3-1 formation caused a whole host of problems. Needed a lot more work from those around him. (6/10)

Cesc Fabregas: Played a key role in Chelsea's title success last term, but had a difficult afternoon here. Looked uncomfortable in central midfield and struggled to find his range of passing. (5/10)

Attack

Eden Hazard: Had Chelsea's best chance in the second period, but fired his low effort straight at Hart from close range. Well below the standards that the Belgian set last season. (6/10)

Diego Costa: Came close to losing his head in the latter stages of the half following a clash with Fernandinho, but hit the post late on and was a threat in the final third. (6/10)

Willian: Plenty of running in the final third, but the Brazilian offered little protection to those behind him. Jose Mourinho would have expected more from the 27-year-old. (5/10)

Substitutes

Kurt Zouma: Replaced Terry at the interval as Jose Mourinho went for more pace at the back. Did okay, but was ultimately part of a defence that conceded twice more in the second half. (6/10)

Juan Cuadrado: Has been strongly linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer, but came on for the final 25 minutes. Made little impact against a well-organised defence. (5/10)

Radamel Falcao: Had a decent chance late on after Costa hit the post, but the striker's struggles continued. Was not given enough time to influence the match. (5/10)
