PFA chief Gordon Taylor: Chelsea are "warehousing" players

PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor claims that Chelsea are "warehousing" players after being forced to send 33 of them out on loan in the summer transfer window.

Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor has revealed that he is worried by Chelsea's "warehousing" of players.

The Blues have amassed a huge squad at Stamford Bridge, forcing them to send 33 players out on loan across Europe, including Juan Cuadrado and 11 other internationals.

Taylor has admitted that he is concerned whether the use of the loan system will bring into question the integrity of the game.

He told The Mirror: "You just wonder where the number will end because it's a pretty strong influence that one Premier League club seems to be having in so many competitions. It's a bit of a worry with so many Chelsea players out on loan.

"It's almost a warehousing of players. You wonder whether it brings into question the integrity of the various competitions.

"From a player's point of view, you can see they would want to go out on loan if there is not a first-team place available. But Chelsea have an academy so you have to wonder how it is they have such a phenomenal number of players out there."

Chelsea signed 10 players during the summer transfer window.
