Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to make contact with former Spain head coach Luis Enrique.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to contact former Spain head coach Luis Enrique over the club's managerial position.

Spurs are currently searching for a new manager after Antonio Conte was relieved of his duties as Tottenham boss last month.

The North London club opted to appoint Conte's assistant Cristian Stellini as interim boss until the end of the season, giving the club time to undertake their search for a permanent manager.

Enrique has been mentioned as a potential candidate for the role, with the 52-year-old looking for a new job after leaving his position as Spain's national team head coach following the 2022 World Cup.

According to The Telegraph, the Spurs hierarchy are planning to make contact with Enrique, and they could hold talks as early as this week.

The report does state that there is currently no indication as to whether Enrique is Tottenham's first choice or whether he will be offered the job.

Enrique has not coached a club side since spending three years as Barcelona boss between 2014 and 2017.

During his time in the Camp Nou dugout, he won two La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey trophies, a Champions League, a Spanish Super Cup, a UEFA Super Cup and a Club World Cup.

The Spaniard reportedly wants to resume his managerial career in England, but Tottenham could face competition from Chelsea.

The Blues hierarchy have already interviewed Enrique, who is believed to be keen to take up the manager's position at Stamford Bridge.

Enrique was hoping to be given the chance to start work immediately at Chelsea following Graham Potter's departure.

However, the Chelsea board opted to place Frank Lampard in charge on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann is also on Tottenham's shortlist, but like Enrique, he has been interviewed by Chelsea.

Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot and Burnley boss Vincent Kompany have been mooted as potential candidates.

Mauricio Pochettino has also been linked, however, there is currently no indication that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will turn to their former manager.
