Patrick van Aanholt keen to discuss Chelsea future

Defender Patrick van Aanholt hints that he doesn't expect to make a breakthrough at Chelsea before the end of his contract in 2015.

Chelsea defender Patrick van Aanholt has admitted that youth talent struggle to get an opportunity to succeed at Stamford Bridge.

Van Aanholt has regularly been loaned out since joining Chelsea as a teenager in 2007, and with his contract due to expire in 18 months' time, the Dutch international is keen to discuss his future with the Blues.

The 23-year-old told the London Evening Standard: "Chelsea are a nice club, but with their millions, there's so many that they can buy.

"It makes the chance to really break through as a young talent quite small."

The left-sided player has featured 20 times for Vitesse Arnhem, who are in third position in the Eredivisie table, during the current campaign.
