The Premier League boss reveals that he is "proud" of the way English football has handled the recent racism cases.

Premier League boss Richard Scudamore has claimed that he is "proud" of the way English football has handled the recent racism scandals.

The news has been dominated in recent months by accusations of racist abuse involving Chelsea's John Terry and Liverpool's Luis Suarez.

Scudamore said: "I don't think the brand has been damaged. English football's record in dealing with this issue is good.

"I'm proud we are in a country that reacts as we have. It's better than what goes on in other countries."

Scudamore's comments come after the government confirmed that it will launch an inquiry into racism issues within British sport.
