Romelu Lukaku scores twice, while debutants Eden Hazard and Marko Marin bag a goal each, as Chelsea overpower Seattle Sounders in an explosive first half.

Debutants Eden Hazard and Marko Marin were both on the scoresheet as Chelsea overcame Seattle Sounders in an entertaining pre-season friendly.

The Blues were ahead after just three minutes when Romelu Lukaku displayed superb strength to barge past 2011 MLS defender of the Year Jeff Parke, before thumping past Bryan Meredith.

Hazard doubled the lead eight minutes later when he followed a jinking solo run with a low shot that took an unfortunate deflection off Jhon Kennedy Hurtado before nestling in the bottom corner.

Despite Chelsea's early dominance, Seattle were level just after the half-hour mark thanks to Fredy Montero, who twice capitalised on poor defensive errors before coolly beating goalkeeper Hilario.

However, the European champions' lead was quickly restored as Marin found space down the left before cutting back and firing a fizzing effort that deflected in off Parke - possibly an own goal.

Lukaku netted his second to complete the scoring in the final minute of the first half.
